  • Location: Tavistock Pool, 880 Macalister Drive, Leesburg, VA 20175
  • Meet Start Time: 6:00 PM (promptly)
  • Warm-Ups:
    • Tavistock: 5:15–5:30 PM
    • Exeter: 5:35–5:50 PM
  • Officials Meeting (Judges & Timers): 5:45 PM
  • Team Area: Exeter will be set up on the right as you enter through the side gate. A sign should be over your area. Please be respectful of all spectators and do not set on pool edge the entire meet. Allow families to view their swimmers event. We have seating but bringing your own is encouraged but we ask please do not leave them on the pool edge for safety and everyone viewing of swimmer.
  • Concessions: Available on the pool deck
    • Warm food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Baby Pool: Closed during the meet (no swimming allowed)
  • Parking:
    • The parking lot is reserved for the visiting team
    • Overflow parking is available on Macalister, Santmyer, and Tavistock streets
    • Please do not park in front of houses or in the townhome area

Movie Night Under the Stars

Join us for the most fun event of the season - Movie Night Under the Stars! Tsunamis can arrive around 7pm to play in the pool and the movie will start as soon as it's dark (usually around 8:30-9pm). Zootopia 2 will be shown. Bring a raft/blanket/chair and a bucket for popcorn!

Below are some helpful and important reminders for the Swim Meet. Our theme is USA/World Cup Team.

Parking: Please park in the church lot across the street. Do not park on the neighborhood streets, especially from the pool entrance of Balls Bluff Road to Battlefield Parkway, vehicles will be ticketed or towed.

Warm-Ups:

  • 7:15 AM - 7:35 AM PCB
  • 7:35 AM to 7:55 AM Tavistock

Spectators: When you arrive, please put your chairs in the parking lot (signs will be posted). Feel free to bring tents to set-up out there or for the swimmers who will be on the deck. Please note that the baby pool and the shallow end of the pool are off limits during the event so please keep your swimmers and siblings out of that area.

Officials & Timers’ Meetings - Listen for announcements for calling of timers and officials and where to meet. - We provide coolers with cold water for all officials during the meet.

Volunteers: Please have your timers and clerk check-in with our team at the volunteer table. Just wanted to note that we change volunteers out AFTER backstroke.

Ribbons: We will print and handle ribbons with you during the meet. We can also coordinate a time to drop off at your pool or whatever is easier!

National Anthem: @ 7:55 AM the National Anthem will start the meet.

Concessions: We will have Concessions available and we accept venmo!

Younger Swimmers: We do not allow coaches in the water for the younger swimmers (per ODSL rules). Just wanted to note that. Obviously if something goes wrong and someone needs to jump in, totally different!!

Parking Details:

There are several parking spots in the pool parking lot. Cars are allowed to park on the shoulders of the roads, but we ask you communicate to your families that they need to pull their car fully onto the shoulder of the road, observe no parking signs, and lastly please don’t park near the intersections as it makes it difficult for residents to see oncoming traffic. Please ask families to obey speed limit /stop signs in the neighborhood

Entrance instructions:

Your team area will be outside of the pool area on the blocked off street and in the grass near the emergency pool. Have a representation check with the meet manager or myself at the baby pool tent and you will be directed to the area as you arrive. Please have your parents and children bring chairs to sit on.

Theme: All Out Team Spirit

Warmups:

Your team will have the pool for a 20-minute warm up from 5:35-5:55pm. Shortly thereafter we will play the National Anthem. Please select 3 swimmers to swim the flags across the pool while the Anthem is played.

***The Meet will start promptly at 6:00pm.

**Official briefings will occur at 5:30pm. Immediately followed by Timer Briefings at 5:40pm.

Parent Viewing Area:

The Tavistock parent viewing area will be between the shallow area & the baby pool. Please ask your families to bring chairs. We will put out what we have but I am sure there are not sufficient chairs to accommodate all. We ask that all parents in this area help keep children out of the shallow area of the pool as we do not have guards on the stand.

Concessions:

We will have concessions located inside the pool area near the main entrance. We will have Chick-fil-A sandwiches and/or pizza, and other snacks for purchase. We will sell granola bars, candy, and other regular assorted concessions items. We will also have coffee, soda, Gatorade, water, etc.… for purchase. We take cash and cards.

Location: Franklin Park: 17501 Franklin Park Drive, Purcellville, VA 20132 

Parking Details: Please use the spaces in the lot and when that is full, you can park on Franklin Park Drive. 

Schedule: 

-Our Pool Deck will open to everyone at 6:10 AM

-Warmups for the Stingrays will be at 6:15 AM 

-Warmups for the visiting team will be at 6:40 AM 

-We try to start the meet at 7:10 AM (or as soon as we can after warmups) as we have a HARD STOP at 10:30 AM. 

We have been able to get to relays in the past, but it is not always possible. 

Briefing: Official briefings will occur at 6:40 AM. Immediately followed by a Time Briefings at 6:50 AM. Briefings will occur at the computer operations table. 

Team Staging Area: Please have swimmers find their team area on our grassy area adjacent to the pool. I will be there to help guide you to the area. There are a few picnic tables, but we encourage you to bring chairs, blankets, or towels to sit. Parents can sit in the same area with their swimmers, watch from the bleachers, or the deck behind the bleachers. 

Franklin Park has a Splash Pad and wading pools that are OFF LIMITS during the meet. We ask for the help of your rounders and parents to enforce these rules. Franklin Park is a yard’s pool. In case swimmers ask the timer what their time is after their race- just remind them to multiply that time by 1.11. Our computer operators will convert the numbers in the meet results after the meet. 

Concession Stand: We will have a concession stand with breakfast burritos, donuts, watermelon, coffee, water and Gatorade. Please bring cash or you can use the QR code to pay via Paypal. 

100M Freestyle: We plan for this event to be after Relays are completed. That way if we are running short on time we can still get Relays completed.

Parking Details

  • Unfortunately our normal street parking for meets has recently been turned into bike lanes. Our HOA wants us to keep as much parking along Riverbank street as possible to limit disruption to the community. As you come into the neighborhood you will see the pool across the street from the first stop sign. After passing through that stop, you are welcome to drop off large items, like tents etc across from the entrance of the pool parking lot and then proceed down Riverbank. Please park on both sides of the street starting at the next stop sign located at the corner of Riverbank and Middle Bluff place. If that area becomes full please park on the left and right of the cross streets of Riverbank.

Team Area

  • The Team Areas are located in the parking lot with direct access to the pool deck. Tavistock will have the back section of the parking lot towards the play set. Riptide will set up towards the entrance. Please feel free to bring canopies and chairs. We respectfully request that you make sure the area is clean and free of trash before leaving.

Spectators:

  • The away team spectators may set up chairs on the left side (not Parking lot side) of the pool, and our team spectators are on the parking lot side. There should be no spectators entering the pool deck, or loitering around the area of the small gate that the swimmers use to enter the deck for their races.

Time-Line:

  • Our Pool Deck will Open to everyone at 4:45pm
  • Riptide warmups will be at 5:00 p.m.
  • Tavistock warmups will be at 5:25 p.m.
  • The National Anthem will be played at 5:55pm. Please select 3 swimmers to swim the flags across the pool while the Anthem is played.
  • The Meet will start promptly at 6:00pm.

Timers

  • Thank you for volunteering to help to collect accurate times for our swimmers. We have a 6 lane pool, so please plan to bring 9 timers with you. We will hold a timers briefing at 5:35pm. We use an electronic timing system and at that time, we will review timing procedures, assignments & watch operations.

Officials

  • The Stroke and Turn officials should also report to the Referee at 5:35pm, Please plan to bring 2 stroke and turn officials.

Other Volunteer Positions

  • One Parking lot clerk of course
  • one deck clerk for your swimmers
  • Ribbon helper (we will print ribbons throughout the meet)

Relays

  • Relays will be run regardless of the time. We have a fairly small team so this isn’t generally an issue, but we just want you to be aware of our policy in case the meet runs late.

100 Freestyle

  • The 100 Freestyle will be swum after the relays.

Concessions

  • We will have concessions available and will include Chick-Fil-A Chicken sandwiches, fresh grilled hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs, pasta, chips, assorted candy and drinks.
  • We accept both cash and Venmo.
